The bud stands for all things
Even those that don’t flower

Times? These times?
When a family splits. When dreams dash. When fear grips.
When confusion visits. When joy transports.
Something to stand on, solid, firm, non-corroding. Sure.
Something to build on, move from, come back to.
Foundation, at the start,
Are we always building?
Roses budded in my garden,
Sweetly fragrant on October,
Start and start again.
The bud stands for all things
Even those that don’t flower.
