The Rev. Dr. Jim Antal, President of the Massachusetts Conference of the United Church of Christ (UCC), will give the sermon today on the topic of climate change as humanity’s greatest challenge. He will preach about overcoming despair through “unconquerable hope”  and the need to embrace Jesus’ admonition to “fear not!”

Comparing climate work to a new abolition movement, Dr. Antal will give examples of how the UCC and other activists are engaged in faithfully offering hope in the face of a changing climate. After teaching and leading two national peace organizations, Rev. Antal spent 20 years leading vital churches of all sizes in Massachusetts and Ohio and providing a public voice on peace and justice issues.
