Fishing for People

  • February 21, 2019

At the beginning of February, we invited you to share what moved you to follow Jesus, join together with this community, or simply show up at worship! Here are some of the responses:

  • Family (4)
  • Fellowship (3)
  • My parents (3)
  • To experience the love of God made manifest in worship! This congregation
  • Joined the church to become part of a community
  • With love I received God
  • The acceptance of all people
  • Adult choir needed another singer
  • Community
  • Something about the feel, the openness of the church and the warmth of the congregation; hard to remember back 46 years!
  • For the wonderful community and dedication to service
  • Recognition of my faith. Strengthening of belief. Prayer and praise.
  • To be closer to my Dad, who is now in heaven with God
  • I came for salvation and to seek God’s favor
  • Community and inclusion for all (and play-dough!)
  • To learn more about Christ
  • I needed a new church family and to feel more love
  • Inner belief in God that required a community at this time of my life (empty nest)
  • Open & Affirming policy and the feeling of God in the people and space
  • To be part of a faith community
  • Love
  • A place where everyone is not just tolerated but valued: Sunday Fellowship, children, leaders of all abilities
  • Community that loves music and takes care of each other.
  • The loving, accepting community
  • Blue skies
  • Grandchildren
  • Because I get to sing in Junior choir, because I learn stuff at church and because I get to make new friends
  • For community and for my children
  • The moment on the hill in Madison
  • Share values with my community
  • I saw the rainbow flag and “Black Lives Matter” sign outside and knew it would be a welcoming place. From the first interaction I had when I walked in the 1st Sunday. The greeter said “You’re here!” with a smile. Boy did I feel welcome, noisy toddlers in tow to boot.
